National Small Business Week 2010.

The greatest annual event for all American small business owners, entrepreneurs and advocates is National Small Business Week. Each year, since 1963, the President of the United States proclaims National Small Business Week in order to recognize the contribution of small businesses to the wellbeing of national economy and society.

Next year this outstanding event will be held the week of May 23, 2010. and many of the award winners from those local and state events will be invited to Washington, D.C. for SBW ‘10 — Celebrating National Small Business Week.

If you are a part of 27,2 million small businesses in America, you shouldn’t miss this event.

U. S. Small Business Administration (SBA) is currently accepting nominations for several SBA award categories including the 2010 Small Business Person of the Year Award. You may nominate your own company or yourself, as well as someone else whose work and skills in this area you admire and appreciate. Through your support of the finest candidates in your region, you will be helping the most important national recognition for American small businesses. Don’t forget the importance of small business-contribution to the strength of the U.S. economy and the fact that more than half Americans either own or work for a small business companies, which create 60-80 percent of new jobs in the country.

Trade associations, chambers of commerce and business organizations frequently sponsor candidates. During Small Business Week all participants will be honored with many special local and state level events, hosted by Small Business Administration in conjunction with public and private-sector small business supporters.

True goal of these celebration is to recognize an individual or an organization which support the small business community.
