Austin is the capital of the U.S. state of Texas and the seat of Travis County. The city is located in central Texas and it was the third-fastest-growing large city in the U.S. during the last nine years.

Demographic facts

The city has a population of 757 688, while the entire Austin-Round Rock Metropolitan Area, of which Austin is the cultural and economic center,  has 1 660 000 residents. Austin citizens are mainly White – 63,7 % (49,9 % non Hispanic Whites), while African Americans or Blacks make up 8,5 %, Indians American 0,5 %, Asian American 5,6 % and Hispanic or Latinos     34,2 %.

Austin is the recommended city. It is ranked as No.2 Best Big City in Best places to live by Money magazine in 2006, No.3 Greenest City in America, according to MSN, No.2 on the Travel & Leisure magazine list of cities with the best people and America’s No.1 College Town according to a Travel Channel. It is also known to have very small number of murders per year, the reason why it is considered fifth-safest city. San Antonio

Basic information

San Antonio is the second largest city in the state of Texas and the seventh largest in the United States. It is the seat of Bexar County with a city population of 1,2 million and metropolitan area population of over 2 million. The city is located in the northern part of South Texas and is the epicenter of Tajano culture and Texas tourism.

The city was named after the Portuguese St. Anthony, whose feast day is on June 13. when a Spanish expedition stopped in the area in 1691. San Antonio is historically very important for history of Texas and Independence of the state of Texas, but also outstanding legendary place since it is home to famous Davie Crockett and the cradle of American Wild West, cattle ranchers and cowboys. Dallas is the third largest city in the state of Texas (behind Houston and San Antonio) and ninth in the United States. It has a population of 1,3 million, but with whole Dallas-Fort Worth-Arlington county the number of residents is 6,3 million. Houston

Basic information

Houston is the fourth largest city in the United States, the largest one in the state of Texas and known as energy capital of the world. The city has population of 2,2 million and is the seat of Harris County and the economic center of the Houston-Sugar Land-Baytown metropolitan area-one of the largest U.S. areas with a population over 5,7 million.


The city is very famous as a broad industrial base in the energy, manufacturing, aeronautics, transportation and health care sectors and is leading center for building oilfield equipment.
