Basic information
San Antonio is the second largest city in the state of Texas and the seventh largest in the United States. It is the seat of Bexar County with a city population of 1,2 million and metropolitan area population of over 2 million. The city is located in the northern part of South Texas and is the epicenter of Tajano culture and Texas tourism.
The city was named after the Portuguese St. Anthony, whose feast 
day is on June 13. when a Spanish expedition stopped in the area in 1691.
